Problem

Travelers often struggle to connect with locals in authentic, spontaneous ways that go beyond tourist attractions. Existing platforms focus on preplanned events, guided tours, or static recommendations, which can feel commercialized or lack real human connection. At the same time, locals may want to share their city or culture casually but have no easy way to meet travelers safely and on their own terms. There is a gap in tools that enable low pressure, real time meetups for meaningful cultural exchange. WanderMatch addresses this by making spontaneous, local experiences accessible, whether it’s a coffee chat, walk, or language exchange, helping travelers truly engage with a city through its people.

Solution

We chose WanderMatch to create a simple yet powerful way for travelers and locals to connect instantly over shared interests. By blending a swipe to match interface with curated local experiences, users can discover real time opportunities without the pressure of formal events or guided tours. The ability to filter by interest, availability, and language ensures relevant, safe, and enjoyable meetups. WanderMatch empowers both locals and travelers to create and join cultural exchanges that feel personal and authentic, solving the problem of shallow travel experiences and lack of connection.
